Sunomono


This recipe was a success with Y3, who enjoyed preparing it as much as they enjoyed eating it. The combination of sweet and sour dressing for the cucumber salad with a touch of sesame seeds did the trick.

Ingredients:
2 cucumbers in thin slices.
1 tablespoon of sugar
½ tablespoon of sesame seeds 
1/4 teaspoon of salt
¼ tablespoon of soy sauce
3 tablespoons of rice vinager
1 cup of dried algae (wakame)

Method
Cut cucumbers in very thin slices, keeping your fingers safe. An adequate instrument is a vegetable peeler or a very safe slicer/grater Leave the cucumber in a bowl for 5 minutes and then squeeze out excess liquid with a cloth. Add salt, sugar, soy, vinegar and sesame. Mix and add the wakame weed. Serve cold.
