Spook Sticks - Y1

For our Halloween tradition, we made a recipe that was scary but enjoyable. The students in Y1 could choose if they preferred white chocolate or milk chocolate, and some wanted both, of course. The strawberry jam for blood was too scary for some, but they all loved the pumpkin seeds as monster nails.
 
INGREDIENTS
80g white chocolate
40g milk chocolate
20 pretzel sticks
20 pumpkin seed pepitas
1 tbsp red jelly or jam

METHOD
1.  Line cookie sheet with waxed paper. Place chocolate in large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high in 30-second increments until almost melted, stirring occasionally until smooth.
2. Holding 1 pretzel rod at a time over melted chocolate, spoon some chocolate over pretzel to coat, molding with hands. Press pepita onto coated tip to resemble fingernail. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Refrigerate 15 minutes to set chocolate.
