Creamy Jack Fruit - Y2


Y2 was very surprised to discover the “secret” ingredient for this dish, after tasting it and after a guessing game that challenged them to imagine what they were eating. They learned that the flesh from a jackfruit could taste as good as if the dish contained chicken or meat. They also had a chance to observe the flesh for savory recipes and the pulp for sweeter versions such as juices. 

Ingredients:
1 Jack fruit
½ onion
1 green Bell pepper
1 tomato
2 spoons tomato sauce 
2 spoons olive oil
Herbs: basil and parsley

Method
Chop an onion and fry in olive oil and add chopped bell pepper and tomatoes. Shred the jackfruit and stir altogether in the frying pan. Then add your herbs of choice and the tomato sauce and cook for 15 minutes. Serve hot on toast or crackers.
