Guacamole


A very healthy traditional Mexican recipe was part of the Cooking Class Menu for the month of September.

Students could get in touch with Mexican culture and learned the difference between healthy fat and unhealthy fat. Avocado is a versatile ingredient and students loved to get their hands on it.

RECIPE
GUACAMOLE

INGREDIENTS:
1 RIPE AVOCADO
1 RIPE DICED TOMATO
1 LIME 
1 TBSP OLIVE OIL
¼  CLOVE GARLIC
SOME LEAVES OF CILANTRO 
½ TEASPOON SALT
TOASTS OR NACHOS TO SERVE 

STEPS:
1. CUT AVOCADO IN HALF, REMOVE THE SEED, TAKE OUT THE PULP AND SMASH ROUGHLY WITH A FORK. 
2. CRUSH THE GARLIC USING A GARLIC PRESS.
3. ADD IN A BOWL THE AVOCADO, TOMATO, GARLIC, OLIVE OIL, SALT AND CILANTRO LEAVES.
4. MIX IT ALL WITH LEMON JUICE AND ENJOY WITH TOASTS OR NACHOS.
