Butter Cookies - Y1

Y1 students had fun mixing the flour in the bowl, first using a spoon and then using their own hands, with or without gloves. They also enjoyed making their own decorations on the baking trays, which made it just as delicious to eat the pre-made cookies that we had prepared for them as the ones they baked for the teachers to eat. 

INGREDIENTS
500g corn flour 
100g unsalted butter (or margarine for vegan version)
1 carton (200g) condensed milk (or condensed soy milk for vegan)
1 pack (50g) baking chocolate drops    

METHOD
Mix all together until they stop sticking to the bowl and separate into small balls. Place on tray lined with paper and press lightly with fork, to bake in oven at 200 Celsius for 20 to 30 minutes after adding chocolate pieces or drops. These cookies do not need to change colour until light brown.
