PIROSHKI
(russian bread)

INGREDIENTS
2 ½ cups flour
1 package dry yeast (10 g)
½ cup milk
6 tbsp water
¼ cup oil
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
150 g shredded cheddar cheese

PROCEDURES
1. Stir together 1 cup flour and yeast.
2. In a separate bowl, heat milk, water, oil, sugar and salt in microwave (just to be warm). Add all at once to flour mixture and beat until smooth, about 3 minutes.
3. Mix in enough flour to make a soft dough, 1 ½ to 2 cups. Mix well.
4. Dust a flat surface with flour, turn dough out onto floured surface, and let it rest under bowl for about 10 minutes.
5. Shape dough into 12 small balls. Roll the pieces into disks.
6. Fill center of each disk with cheddar cheese. Fold disks over filling and firmly pinch edges to seal.
7. Arrange on greased baking sheet to rise until doubled in size.
8. Bake in a preheated 200° C oven for 10- 15 minutes.
