On
March 17th we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick
is the patron saint of Ireland. The custom there and around the
world, is to wear something green and be jolly on this day! The
“shamrock”, or clover, is for good luck and everyone
collected one in the library to wear as a button on their shirts.
Also, Miss Ghisalberti told the "Legend of the Leprechaun",
a tricky elf that lives in Irish forests and hides a pot of gold
at the end of the rainbow. Children came into the library and
guessed how many golden coins he keeps in his pot.
